A person that possesses a valid New Hampshire saltwater recreational fishing license may engage in recreational saltwater fishing from Maine's southern border to Cape Neddick, without registering with ME DMR
When I got my freshwater license last year (which was $22) there was a sign that stated next year there would be an additional $5 fee for the salt water license in 2011 for Maine residents. I was led to believe by the way it was worded that you had the choice and there would be an additional stamp or a different box checked off if you chose to get the saltwater license in addition to the fresh water. When I got my freshwater license this year it was $27 for Maine residents, flat rate, no questions, no stamps no additional boxes checked off or any of that. The woman at Cabela's (who sounded like she was from the deep south) swore up and down that the licenses were the same price as last year, but I know what I paid last season and didn't feel like getting into yet another long, drawn out conversation in that store as I find most don't know their ass from their elbow (in my experience anyway). So was this $5 just tacked on to the license and it is understood that it was for both fresh and salt? I made sure to ask and was told that I am covered for both, maybe I misunderstood what I read last year?? Either way I am covered so I guess that's all that matters. Just thought I'd throw my .2 cents worth in......tight lines guys!!!!
