Default fished cornwall today

me and a few friends, and also about 10 other guys fished the shores of Cornwall today, not one of us pulled in a striper. Anyone have a good idea when they will strat biting? Is it just a matter of time?

I'm starting to scratch my head, too. If they had been here and just lethargic from the cold water, we should have seen them wake up in the past few days. I checked six sites that do "posted reports" and NOT ONE of them was showing any significant Striper activity to the Battery-to-Piermont section South of us. When I last looked at a map of the Hudson, they have to go past those spots first. I can only remember one year in the past 20 years where the action in Cornwall/Newburgh wasn't preceeded by a big pickup in the fishing to the south of us.

Went out today on a boat and marked lots of fish on the fishfinder in Newburgh area. Used bloodworms drifting and not a single bite in almost 6 hours! It was windy at times and the water temp was 52 degrees. I don't know what to think except maybe they will bite when the water warms up more.
