Default New Guy From Nevada

Hi all, just wanted to check in and introduce myself
I live in Las Vegas and do most of my fishing down in Baja, but like to Striper fish in Colorado River below Hoover Dam from my Kayak, it is a Ocean Kayak Prowler 15. Have not had much luck though and signed up hoping to learn a thing or two!

Welcome aboard SeaOx. I have the P15 as well, but mostly fish the salty water. Take some time to read through the "Sticky" threads at the top of the forums and familiarize yourself with the Search tool. Feel free to ask any specific questions you have as they come up. We don't have many active members who fish the Colorado, but we'll do our best to point you in the right direction. Feel free to post up some reports or updates on what's going on in that part of the striper fishing world. Cheers!

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I have not ran into any one Kayak fishing on the river yet. Been trying to talk a few friends into it. Not as much fun fishing alone and it would be safer with a buddy.

I'm a new guy, too. From NW AZ. I have fished below Hoover Dam for stripers quite a bit, but from around Willow Beach and down. Slow trolling shad Rattle Traps work, as do chunks of anchovies on the bottom. There are 30+ pounders cruising in those waters, so you can fish for those. Different equipment and different methods.
Regardless, it's beautiful in that area of the Colorado. Keep your eyes open for big horns & burro's.

An antique fisherman.

Thanks for the tips bptucker! The anchovies work great in Lake Mead, have not had much luck in the river with them for some reason? Great for the catfish though. I'll pick up a few shad Rattle Traps and give em a try, thanks again.
