Just as Sudsy has already said, it's sandeel city down there.....took a couple of neighbors to a local haunt, we had 8 fish in a couple of hours, including a guys first ever surf caught keeper, it was a good night. All fish but one on rubber eel teasers, other fish hit a hopkins.
Bring on the big girls.

Not much too see either as the chop and hard east wind did not produce any fish for the scattered anglers that I saw.

I will be at the Norwalk CT Boat Show tomorrow giving a Striper Seminar at 12:30pm, I hope to meet some of you 247ers...

ps. felt like a crisp fall morning!
John, Do you fish the Little Egg Inlet area?? Man, I was dying to go out last weekend but 4-7' waves and 20-30 mph winds kept me away I live in Pa. so I can only go down on weekends. was out at the GSS reef last Sun. and we were killing the Seabass tons of doubleheaders!!! but only 5 keepers out of 100 fish. no Strippers or Blues yet! I can't wait! now they are calling for chance of rain again Sat. ARRGHHHH!!!

I'm new to Bass fishing, so what type of plug would you use when fishing the shoreline from a boat and how would you use it? Thanks.

Hey guys NY fisherman here! Sudsy! Ed! how are you guys? .....was thinking of heading out to NJ for a full day of surf fishing this weekend....but I am a bit unfamiliar with where to go
So I ask you!!...where should I go? Sandy Hook is closest to me, or should I trek it out to IBSP?......if so what parking lot should I pull into I know they are numbered right? anyone want to join me drop me a line! I will probably be with my 13 year old son and dead sticking bait....any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Phil

Phil
The Hook had a Bluefish Blitz early in the week and lately it has not been stella. I was down IBSP this morning, loads of bait in the wash, brought my smaller 7' Penn Rod with the New Conqueror reel and bailed Hickroy Shad, and small Weakies on Deadly Dicks and Teasers, mostly all fish were caught on the teaser dragged across the bottom. Sunday, I will be out but will be north, anywhere from Bay Head to Spring Lake, haven't fished this area yet this year and wanted a change of scenery. Advice?...try the Hook as it is close to you and work south.

To be honest, it really doesn't matter where you go

Bait is stacked everywhere - find a spot, any spot, where whitewater is breaking over a bar and drag a sand eel pattern teaser over it. I've done best with RedGills
You'll get fish

No whitewater and it's a much tougher game. Small plugs like the Yozuri Crystal minnow right along the beach or rocks is probably your best bet.
