N.C. Hearings for proposal size limits on Lake Norman
A proposal to remove the size limit for striped bass in the summer in Lake Norman will come before the public in statewide hearings beginning Tuesday January 11th 2005. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission hearings will center on proposed changes to fishing and hunting rules.
The reason for removing the 20-inch minimum size limit for stripers from June 1-Sept. 30 would be that the heat-sensitive fish likely would die anyway when released. The bag limit would remain four fish a day.
