Harbor Tackle’s Fishing Report, November 13, 2006
The stripers are coming. Last Wednesday and Thursday were hot days for legal stripers on the beach. I heard of at least a dozen fish caught during last week. Last Wednesday, a 47 ¾ inch striper was weighed in at Harbor Tackle. It was taken on bunker heads. Ed Baker of Ocean City got himself a 39 ¼ inch striper using bunker on Thursday. Saturday Daniel Wagner from York, Pa hookup up with a 34 lb 44 ½ inch striper with fresh bunker heads. Still on the beach are small stripers, a few blues, kingfish, and dogfish. A couple of fishermen caught a puppy drum and a flounder on Ocean City beach Tuesday. Tog are biting hard at 2nd and 4th Streets and at the Inlet. More and more legals are being hooked. Earlier in the week speckled trout were caught at the Rt. 50 Bridge and at the bridge going over to Assateague. 31 inch to 36 inch sized stripers have shown up at the Thorofare and in the back bays. Pat Connelly of Ocean Pines caught a nice 36 ½ inch 16 lb striper in the bay on Tuesday.
Harbor Tackle has fresh bunker, live green crabs, live eels, and live sand fleas.
