June 2008 Harbor Tackle Fishing Report, Ocean City, Md
Harbor Tackle Fishing Report June 19, 2008
Finally, I think, things are getting back to normal. It has been a while since I have posted a fishing report. Terry was hospitalized mid May for 4 days, then he had surgery to his knee in late May and the next week I had gall bladder surgery. We are on the mend and back to work.
The surf is producing mostly skates, sharks, kingfish and a few flounder. The end of May Mark Bodolus of Ocean City caught a 27 inch trout in the Ocean City surf. Andres Servin of Washington, DC hooked a 28 7/8 inch striper at the Ocean City Inlet. Some nice flounder have been taken at the Thorofare and behind the airport. Tom Tatum came in with a 5.66 lb flounder, Donald Grim had a 2.78 lb flounder, and Paul Musser weighted a 5.245 lb flounder. The Rt. 50 Bridge and the Inlet are producing some stripers and small bluefish. The sea bass bite is off as they are spawning and the tog are moving to cooler waters. I’m sure that most of you have heard about Brandon Solomon’s 50 lb cobia caught at the Ocean Pier.
Harbor Tackle has fresh bunker, fresh spot, live eels, live minnows, live sandfleas, live peelers, live chowder clams, and live black saltys.
