i really liked that clip from 1939. almost looked like the canal had sand shores. having lived on it my whole life it's nice to see how it used to be. as far as any tips go, don't use too much weight when bait fishing, it's all about the tides and bring plenty of extra bottom fishing tackle because if you've never fished it before you will lose a shit ton of tackle ( or at least i did ). top water lures at sundown and sun up. fishing the ends are typically better. the middle has it's spots but you really need to know the canal to find the good ones. as far as fishing stories in the canal, i've seen some incredible shit ! i ve thought about bringing a camera with me to catch some of the blitzes in the fall. absolutely amazing! and haven't heard of any Stripers yet in the canal though there are plenty of herring.good luck !
