I have an 1989 Mercury 150 horse that is pressurizing my above deck oil tank so much that the sides buldge out, its also leaking where the hoses go in to be mixed with the fuel not sure what its called on an outboard, oil pump maybe? Anyone have any ideas?
sounds like a restriction in the oil supply line from the remote tank to engine mounted tank,be sure that the engine mounted tank is staying full.... I cant remember, but I think ther is a check valve on the engine that is supposed to limit the crankcase pressure that is supplied to the remote tank, you will have to trace it back and check, I just cant recall ever seeing that problem...
funny you say that. I have an 88 200 horse blackmax and yesterday I noticed that the remote oil tank was leaking also. It had a crack in it. I don't know how it got there but there it was. I wonder if that was because of the pressure or if someone accidentally kicked it or the cabin door swung into it???
