Hey i have a question for the plug builders with alot of experience. I just started seriously making them . Question 1 whats the best epoxy to use and drying system, And the main thing ive struggled with is making the slot evenly for the metal lip to fit in, i use a hobby saw or a dremel but it never seems to come out evenly and ends up ruining the lure, and last but not least a threw wire question, What gauge wire is best and what type,im currently using a cheaper thinner wire thats easy to bend
the very best way is to have jigs/fixturs made that use the belly holes to locate the plug and use a small table top band saw .... you can also leave the square ends on and use the band saw... cuttin straight free hand is hard... look at this link and you might get a little insight.. http://www.stripers247.com/phpBB2/forumdisplay.php?f=178
Personally I use z poxy for securing the lip, and yes band saw is the way to go, I use the rip fence on mine, don't know if you found one yet but, you can find some Decent benchtop models on craigslist
