Question Planer boards-

Great forum lots of good info, what is the best planer board to try, fishin for stripers, largemouth- A little skeptical of some of the ads- Have a 17 ft. boat with trolling motor in freshwater.

Ive used the Offshore ones....great planerboards.....flag system is excellent and they work...

Hey Busted,

On your topic of planer blades, I've used the Big Jon "Willie" blades for years... in both fresh water and salt. They work great...takes about 0.5-knots to keep them planning... they're reversible and you can get spare parts from Big Jon. Pulling a spread of six with two down-lines under them has caught a lot of stripers.

The only two negatives are the black brackets are easy to break... so watch that and small sharks/bluefish will nail them from time to time . Pic below.

I use bloody point planer boards I purchased from all tackle they work great and have held up for 3 years now.
