Default River (merrimack) conditions... Weekend?

I know there obviously many different locations to fish from. With
the conditions of the merrimack in question is it worth getting out
there this weekend. Or should I go for another venue.

Limited by the water at my feet, I was also thinking about the hampton
bridge and reservation area.

Else its further south near the ipswich rivah.

I haven't vetured down there yet.

Any thoughts on the Mack as to the condition for the weekend(Sunday).

give the Mac a few more days to calm down, there are fish, but getting to them may be difficult,as far as the beach goes, the National gaurd is cleaning up debris as I type this... it may be fishable by tomorrow..

Jigs and swimbaits are doing buisness along the front beach at high tide for bass in the 20-30" range....with bigger fish arriving daily...

The good thing about the mess from the garbage washing up is that
they're finally paying attention to the issues that have plagued that area.

Hopefully they will go the extra mile and clean it up the way it should be.

It is an area that takes the most abuse as far as refuse goes. A few
york raking sessions throughout the sumer months would go a long way
into making that stretch a very nice area to visit.

It goes without saying that some abuse the area more than others. But
there remains the issues of debris from upriver...

If I can get out with JB this weekend that'd be great...Then I'll get back to
the river shortly there after...

the biggest reason you see so much "junk" washing up on plum island is due to the way the water currents circulate, as the water flows from up north out of the bay of fundy, the current circulate southward in a CCW direction, as the water flows past plum island it hits cape ann and eddies back, each set of easterlies puts trash from the whole north east coast on our beach, this circulation that causes the mess is also responsible for making this section of coast line one of the most productive fishing areas on the eastern sea board...

Roc, That's an interesting analysis.

Don't think you'd hear that type of information coming from the
reporters that had covered the story about the excessive refuse.

The one thing that they covered to death was the trash barrel from
Goffstown, NH. That's one hell of a longway for a barrell to travell. I doubt
it fell into the river from within the confines of the town boundries.

My guess is that was the thought the reporter had...

Capt. Cal,

I've forgotten more about that riversystenm than tohose reporters will ever know, they assume that it is all storm related, some is, some isnt..

I'm speaking of the refuse that ends up on the beach in general, I heard the same thing about the trash can, big deal.. too bad the trees and soda cans dont have a return label on them.... then they could key on something else..

waitt until the missing boats turn up.... there are more than a few!
