Default Needles

Sorry Smulax, I deleated your post by accident....I wanted to edit my response and deleated the whole message..

1'X1" mahogany makes great needles... you want three types of needles, Floating, slow sinking and fast sinking, you want to weight your needle so the nose rides higher than the arse...

Default Re: Needles

I think I will turn about 15 of them and put the weight at different places color coordianted of course so i can tell what is what at first.
so middle slight arse and arse should be good places for the belly weitghts?
like i said I have a buttload of it. and more coming so i can experiment for cheap.

Thanks.

P. S. would it be possible to take a road trip to your neck anytime this winter? as long as your not too busy. but then again i am good at sanding.

needles are extremly fickle, if you want them to fish well, except for the surface models, always take into account hook size..... I've seen where switching from 2/0 to 3/0 ruined the plug.....thats where VMC's gladiator style come in.. great for fine tuning, if a 2/0 is too small, a 3/0 is too big, a minor adjustnment can be made by using a 2/0 XXX VMC....

I'll be working in the shop on Saturday... your welcome to come over... no sanding.
