Default Cooking over wood

I like cooking on my $25 charcoal grill better than a gas grill that cost 10 times as much. And to make the food taste especialy good, throw on some good hardwood. Cherry, hickory, apply, and even oak work great. The best lamb I've ever tasted was cooked on a open fire of oak and beech.

Default Re: Cooking over wood

I'll add green apple, maple, birch, grape vine, and even rubarb on the gas or coals for smoking myself.
But nothing beats an all wood fire. Things just come out better.

My Weber (knock-off) kettle is probably 30 yrs. old and still going strong too.
