I am going to hit RI for the fall run.
My cousin lives down is Foster RI (pernounced fauwsta) and wants me to come down to fish the fall run. (it was really my idea) I have fished Conn. and had some luck but I mainly fish from the Mack-north. I know that trying to find macks down in RI would simply mean that I burn 2 tanks of fuel for no reason. I was wondering what techniques are the normal deal for that run. I got wire and chutes, some plugs, umbrella rigs, tubes (18-24"), and terminal tackle for drifting baits on the bottom.
is the bait of choice Peanut Bunker? What works well? I have a boat and plan to go out of Charlestown area. I don't expect spots or honey-holes, I am simply looking for tackle choices for that time of year. I heard there is a nasty rock on the right hand side of the breachway.
Thanks
Bubba
