Known for its largemouth and more recently walleye, Wipers in Monroe inhabit open water venues, another niche mostly unused by all the other predators.

Monroe reservoir
WHAT THEY'RE CATCHING: Bluegill, hybrid striped bass, walleye
BAIT:crank baits (hybrid striped bass), large minnows/jigs (walleye),
NOTES: . Late in the day, live bait or planer boards with live bait 6-8 feet are producing some hybrid stripers, but these fish do not typically survive catch and release methods. Trolling diving lures in Moores Creek or from Fairfax to Ramp Creek has been effective for walleye.
