Since you will be right around the corner, visit Red Top Bait & Tackle. One of the better shops IMO.

Are you staying at that campground under the Bourne Bridge? I've always wondered about noise from traffic keeping people awake.

yup, that would be where i will be staying. i usually stay a few nights every year around this time. the traffic crossing the bridge isnt bad at all. i hardly notice it, im usually elsewhere fishing. by the time i go to bed im sooooooo tired it takes a MOAB to wake me up....or my cell phone alarm (for some reason thats the only thing that can wake my ass up) anyway, i hope to hook into something good, i got a good feeling. maybe ill see some of ya down there. look for the black or tan s247 hat.

well, i left saturday night around 11:30 and arrived at the fishin hole with eels in tote about 2am, the water was boiling over with baitfish. lots of schoolies and blues feedin on em. i concentrated my efforts where the bigger fish were bustin the top, which happened to be in REALLY shallow water, some litterally on the shore line. three bass from 25" to 34" within the first hour, then it seemed to slow down, although they were still there. i switched to mack strips(mackerel fillets) driftin along the shore and no takers, so i went a little deeper.....CHOMP..damn blues. back to the eels i went, a few little pecks, either little bass or blues, however my eels never lost their tails to any blues, that was it, the sun came up the boiling slowed to a stop and i went to sleep. hit the canal a few times during the days while camping, threw plugs and chunks, nothin. got rained out one night (i would have stayed but my 9 yr old son couldnt take the rain). the last camp night was another all nighter, this time i was gonna bring one home. well the all nighter was cut short, however it didnt take long to bring home dinner. no cows, but some good fishin in my book.
