Default mad school by rockaway

Went out fluking from boat tues 06/27 on our way back into the marina (5:30pm) we saw the bunker getting hit like mad, and the flock of birds over the whole scene, right by the <edit, major spotburn ~ Sudsy>. we figured it was blues, we drove into it and figure we would get some. Turns out it was all stripers, we had no bait left, we threw a few diamond jigs in and got 5 stripers in 10 minutes. All shorts but one keeper at 30 inches. One wild scene though!! the water looked like it was in a blender!!!

where is the <edit ~ Sudsy>? I've been fishing the highlands w/out much luck. A short here and there. Had one good fish on early sunday morning, but that was it for the stripers.

I left the Highlands comment for one reason, there's a lesson to be learned there.
Have you looked at the water temps back behind the Hook, from Highlands west?? Way, waay too warm for a decent bass bite.

Thanks for the map. Just bought a map of the area to match up w/ my gps/sonar. I used to fish w/ a friend, in his boat, in the Hudson in Newburgh years ago, but this is a whole new ball game. It will take plenty of trial and error, but i'll keep trying.
