Default Mono Shelf Life

I spent today doing the most thorough clean-up / tune-up of my fishing equipment that I may have ever attempted, and I came across a full spool of 25# mono, a half spool of 20# and most of a spool of 25# flourocarbon all bought 4 summers ago when I first started targeting stripers. I feel like this is an obvious question, but is this line still good? I've always been told to change your line every year, whether you've gone fishing or not, so I guess I'm just a little nervous about putting the line on.

Default Re: Mono Shelf Life

If it was stored in a dry area without any sunlight it should be OK.
Test the flouro with some pressure.
If the monos been on your reel I would get rid of it
