Hunter Shot For Shooting Man's Dog

Reporting
Tina Orlando
GEORGES TWP. (KDKA) ― A Fayette County man is facing charges after police say he shot a man who shot his dog.
George Bodnovich, 42, of Brownsville, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
Police say Bodnovich shot 26-year-old Jonathan Harmon in the leg.
Harmon says he was riding his quad near the Hi-To Sportsmen Club in Fairchance when he shot what he thought was a coyote. But, the animal turned out to be Bodnovich's dog.
Harmon says Bodnovich began to shoot at him - blowing out the tire on his quad and hitting him in the leg.
Harmon's doctors say he'll be alright, but his mom is outraged.
Harmon says he's sorry any of this ever happened.
Police say the dog was wearing an orange vest at the time it was shot. They're now determining whether Harmon will face any charges.
Bodnovich was released on $50,000 bond. He didn't return calls seeking comment.
Bodnovich is expected to be in court tomorrow for a preliminary hearing.

At first when i read this I thought the dog owner over reacted.
And thought another example of the importance of identifying your target before shooting.
Then after reading some more accounts I began to think what kind of ass hole mistakes a dog with an orange vest for a cayotte. While riding a vehicle, Illegally. --
He's lucky the dog owner didnt take him out permanantly.
Couple of rounds of birdshot in the ass will make him think about the dog for a long time.
Now the dog owner faces charges of aggravated assault. and probably civil penalties and a law suit The dog shooter walks (limps away) scott free.

I agree. The dog was wearing an orange vest. Always identify your target as well as what is beyond it.

His mom is outraged? She should be ashamed! Of course this will postpone Jr. from moving out & getting his own place. Because Mommy will need to tend to his boo-boo.
