Default Braid on Penn 450 SSg

I've got a fairly new Penn 450 SSg that I would like to load up with braided line. I'm still pretty new to braid and was told by a tackle shop that I should not put braided line on that reel (something about the bail ???). Anyone have any advice on this? I would like to get away from mono if possible.

I use it casting plugs and bucktails off a boat.

any help will be much appreciated.

guys & gals - for what it's worth, I tried using fireline on this reel (per a members appreciated suggestion). my own personal taste is that i really did not like it... it felt like dental floss and I had a few knots slip. it just felt all wrong, I had my local tackle shop guy rig it with power pro and its fishing really nice now. that was my experience. I'm no pro but I have been casting spinners for 30 years so i do have some experience.. My dad has 70.

sorry i missed this.
yea, that bail will flip closed at the drop of a hat.
always was a problem for the 450/4500 and the 550/5500 series.
if that ever starts to happen to you, the fix is to bend the bail arm a bit to tweak it. it just never recovers unless ya do that. pia when the thing starts getting a mind of it's own. other than the newer models made of composite, "snapping handles or breaking right off the rod in isolated cases" it is one sturdy reel that holds it's own.
