Some boards dont bother ridding them. these trolls try to harvest emails and member lists. Others cache and scrape your content via crawlers like legitimate ones used by google and yahoo. The real malicious ones dont obey the robot.txt files that tell them to stay out. They just use up bandwidth and serve no usefull purpose. Its a neverending battle against them.
Word gets around between these trolls about who is fair game. On the whole we dont get as much as some because we're not an easy target and we remain diligent.
