Bank Sinkers

Hey guys,

I finally got around to using the sinker die cast my Dad gave me last fall.
Along with Acetylin Tourches and welder too.

I don't have the best setup to make up but I made about two dozen already.

7, 5 1/2, 4 1/2, 3 1/2, 2 1/2...

I got a big pile of lead lying around... About 50 lbs or so...
Don't think I'm going to use it all on weights...

I guess I don't see the point of buying them anymore. Its seems to
be a very simple process. If I can figure out how to take a picture
and finally up load... I'm a computer guy too, go figure...

Anyone else make their own weights?

last year i made a mold for pyramid sinkers, i melt down old wheel weights. my simple set up saves me a few bucks on every trip, it adds up over time.

In Hawaii they would use the sand at the beach......they would use something pyramid shaped, push it into the sand, and pour hot led from a fire into the sand mold....and they would typically use wire coathanger pieces as the eye. Cheap and simple, and as long as you have a good pyramid shape to make the mold in the sand, you come out with perfect weights everytime.

When I made them ,I would use my buddy's bullet lead pot. works real good. I make weighted poggie jigs.
