We can use this thread to track Herring movements up the river.

Well the time has come.

Let us know when you start seeing them ... General location or county is fine, no need to give up your specific honey holes.

Any herring down south? I see water temps are up around or over 40 up to around piermont..

Gotta be close. Still dropping down to 37 at night. Maybe one more week- 10 days

it me the dog i hear one was landed at 4 mile yesterday and 3 herring

I actually wouldn't be surprised based on date ... More surprised people are trying already.

Guy came into the bait shop this morning and said his grandson caught a 39 at the Coxsackie boat launch. I'm thinkin it was an April fools joke!! THere were ice bergs on the river this morning, but that south wind blasting all day made them disappear...

Hello BB no that what i heard but i talk to friend down south and that didn,t see nothing went down the and and nothing no cormorant

I will say I was out by troy checking it out, and there were three herring sitting on the rocks. Though I am pretty much 100% sure that someone just thawed out some frozen ones and left them.
