That seems warm but it would makes sense as its comfortable temps for the eels to be around...if you can find them do try the Bill Hurley eels man they work sick, they do not outfish live but damn near close and for 5 bucks a pop quite affordable. Great for those times when you can't find large casting eels that can handle a bit of current...

Re: Rhode Island Reports
I've seen bass & blues here & there.
Nothing to indicate the fall run has started yet though.
I'm figuring the 2nd week in Oct. will turn on this year. But it'll be short and sweet.

Re: Rhode Island Reports
I believe the big push is gonna be on the outside. We'll get some, but I believe the big southbound pods will the outside, past Block to Montauk.

Re: Rhode Island Reports
What a nice, windy, productive night last night. Hit the water two hours before the high with nothing until right before the turn as it was just getting dark. Put on an eel and a few casts later had a runner and set her hard. Fought it for a bit and then it got wrapped around a pilion and thought it was lost. Then my buddies pole starts going and he's fighting a beast. It looks to be wrapped up in my line or something because its coming in funny. It fianlly comes up, as I still have tension on my pole and can still feel it pulling ever now and again. Its a beast. Just about 43 inches. I go to take the hook out and its my hook and leader, and as I see, not my buddy though, my fish. Unbeleivable, so that's going to be the biggest one of the season so far (for both of us) and of course the point of views are, as well, going to be a constant talking point for a while to come. We ended up getting a couple more but no more keepers. Quite the story to go along with the fish. But like I said to him. No problem sharing that fish. I was just glad to see it!
