Warning, this is the same post as in the surfcasting section, but I'm getting a bit lonely hoping for a response there. I'm looking for some durable breathable chest waders for the surf. Just wondering whether any of you have had good experience with the field and stream breathable waders, the hodgeman wadelite breathables, Dan Bailey BareBones Breathable Chest wader or any other resonably priced brands? I just found out that Simms has some pretty good looking waders (4 layers) that I found for a reasonable price, The freestone,
http://www.simmsfishing.com/za/SIM?P...&PROD.ID=14442 140 bucks. Downside is no attached gravel guards. I'm leaning more towards them b/c of Simms warranty. Also, i heard that the hodgemans wadelites suk. I was going to opt for some cheap hip boots, but I figure i might as well buy something that I'll get more use out of (August and september kings!) and I saw that on e-bay you can get these brands for a reasonable price. I am going with the stocking foot so that I can pack them easily. I have neoprenes, but they're boot foot and impossible to travel with and I want something for when it's warmer.
