Going camping/Fishing! @ Salisbury State park.

Hi all,

This Sunday I'll finally be going back to the place I love to vacation too! Salisbury Beach! I live up in Toronto, Canada and we don't have this kinda of fishing. I picked up Surfcasting by watching and just having fun with it. I'll be there for 2 weeks.

My Question is; Hows the fishing thus far? I'm not that experienced but I have caught a few keepers but I mostly catch n' release (I don't think its cool for tourists to pull fish from the locals). I normally use herring but is there anything else that works well, doesn't have to be live bait.

i just left salisbury park on monday and it was a great time. the river seemed to be the place to fish. in three days i fished with herring, mackeral and clams. the only thing i caught fish on was the clams cut in half. if your going to fish from the rocks by the mouth you better bring alot of hooks and weights. good luck.

Saint: On your way down Sunday, stop about 1 hour north from where you are staying and meet up with some of your fellow canadians and Striper247 members. They will be just south of Old Orchard beach.

Two weeks at Salisbury Beach!

I would recommend you sleep all day in the sun and fish all night it just doesn't get much better. The fishing has been good on the beach and in the river, mix it up. You will have a great vacation, I'm jealous and I live here.

I wish I could go up there and hang out with you Canadian guys but I got the wife with me and she would KILL me knowing that I made a fishing pit stop.lol I know, I know I should leave her behind ... but she makes a mean steak! Maybe another time!
