Hello from Kansas City
Hello everyone, I am one of the many newbies here I just receintly moved from the Kansas City area to New Bedford Mass. I am completely new to marine fishing and dying to learn all I can. I have a 17' bass boat that is itching to get some saltwater in the engine, so anyone willing to lend a hand can have a free ride.
In Missouri we have stripers, however they seldom get over 5 lbs and aren't that big of a deal... that is why I was shocked to see what everyone was making a big fuss about here! Needless to say, now I want to get a piece of the action!!!

Re: Hello from Kansas City
Haha! Welcome aboard neighbor! I'm a Kansas City, MO transplant myself,, moved here 3 1/2 years ago. I'd be happy to show you around a little this season, if you're interested in doing some night fishing. Who knows,,, we may have already met. Does Union Shop Apparel ring a bell? Stick around my friend, and definately get in the loop on the Gatherings that we have planned for this year. Excellent way to get some tutoring from some of the best guys around

Re: Hello from Kansas City
The steaks around here, aint no where near what you may be used to, but, we got Bass that will more than make up for that! We have a bunch of stuff going on around here that will shorten your learning curve quite a bit. Bait runner being one of the best in your (Old, and New) hometown. On a calm day that Bass boat will get you around some real nice areas of the outer Narragansette bay area that I fish often.
5 Lb stripers? We use bait bigger than that around here! I got plugs bigger than a 5 pounder!

Aint that the truth,,, I have yet to find a good steak around here,,, but I'd go without steaks for the rest of my life in exchange for the fishing here

Kansas City to New Bedford Mass. 17 foot boat. Why does that sound so familiar?

Re: Hello from Kansas City
Unfortunately, I am still waiting on my EMT license being transfered over from MO to MA... I would pick a non-registry state to move to!

Re: Hello from Kansas City
Holt Community Fire Protection District, just north of KC. Primarily an EMS service, but we were always glad to see a good structure!
