My son Mike,thinking he was helping dad,charged my batteries in reverse,neg to pos and pos to neg.the electricals still work,so the batts still have juice.The big problem is now i have no juice the 150 yammie.Looking for info on what could have got toasted.All fuses intact in the engine and in the console. Starter?sollonoid.the boat is a 2001 SEAHUNT,center console.thanks for any input.
Most of the electronics have polarity protection,he is very lucky there was not an explosion... look on the starter circuit under the cowel, there should be an in line fuse holder, that is probably where your problem lies.. from there you will have to do individual cuircuit checks to be sure where the problem lies.. good luck, this has ugly written all over it..
Good luck. Don't get frazzled and eliminate one problem at a time in the circuit. Start at the source and work your way to load. eliminate things one at a time. Wiring can turn you around in circles I am an electrician and have fallen victim many times to chasing my tail on Motor Controllers and things of that nature. Get a circuit tester at an automotive supply store start at the supply and make sure you have voltage there. then go to the line side of the ignition, load side etc. etc. it will be easy to find that way.
