Default Car Show and Wiper fishing afterwards

Car Show was slow, 250 cars give or take, HOT, there was hydro boat races on river, and Reds kicking the rocky mountain oysters off the Rockies, so small crowd. 4 game sweep, chasin' the Cardinals!
Wiper fishing afterwards was slow to, Creekwalker and I put in yaks at Meldahl dam around 7pm, barges and high water made upstream eddy very fast and rough. Got into downstream flow, drifted and cast 2" and 4" shad bodies, no hits.
Put on huge 6" power bait shad body on 1/2oz hyperstriper jig, got noticed in a hurry, close to 2' gar, thankfully it bit line and lure off before I got it in yak, didn't have my clips with me! :)
Paddled upstream and drifted back a couple times, fished creek mouth, too muddy, too high, too late, too little?
Barge pilots being very considerate, backing off engines as they came up on us. Glad to have light stick with me (actually rechargeable we sell for garages, makes a great stern lamp.)
Pulled out after dark, still beats sitting on the couch.....

That 442 is one a nice ride! Did it have a trailer hitch on it lol?

Have you ever posted a closeup picture of your yak? Just curious. I wouldn't mind seeing it up close, as yak fishing is taking off here in Indiana with the forming of a yak fishing club.

I think it's pretty cool

Default couple yak pics

Here's a couple of yak pics, one's on the Little Miami River Milford, OH and the other in Assateague Channel, VA a month ago.
Lowrance sonar, head and battery in orange dry box, transducer epoxied inside hatch shoot thru hull.
Still looking for that free ride...... :)
as for that trailer hitch, almost have mom agreeing to pontoon boat, so we can have a little room to move around!
Last pic is an Osprey trying to wave me off it's nest, impressive first hand.

Hey Jeff, you got to give those barges a bunch of respect. The power those things have is tremendous. Just driving a boat by one on the river can be tricky. My buddies were at the end of the lock wall one night when a barge came out of the lock. They had the trolling motor on high and they were still being pulled toward the barge. Almost had to start the big motor. Fishing near one is very dangerous. Jeff did you give me an address? Give me a PM.
