Default Decent surf rod to match reel

I fish NJ and NYC mainly for stripers and blues. I'm lookin for atleast a 10' surf rod to go with my shimano Baitrunner 6500. Been lookin at Tica TC3 Dolphin, St. Croix Triumph and Star Stellar. Any suggestions?

What is your price range? As for those two rods, i have not owned either so i will let someone else evaluate them...

IMO anything Tica makes is crap. St. Croix and Star rods are both decent for the price and i have one of each. I would lean toward the Star.

St Croix are excellent. I like the Star as well. The Star is probably less expensive

Bang for the buck $100 range- I feel the Star Stellar Surf is the best plus you get a lifetime warranty.
I also own a Tsunami Trophy and it is a very decent rod but I feel the Star is better. If just out of the Lami and St Croix I would go with the SC Triumph as I have heard the Lami Surf King's guides are abit cheap but maybe they have improved them.

If you do go with the Star try and get the 11' as the joint is more towards the handle and it effects the action less than on the 10' where the joint is in the center. But both are great rods

All the rods in this category will come with Hardloy rings. Regardless of the maker Fuji or Pacific Bay. I no longer buy factory made rods because no matter how good or bad the blanks are they all come with junk on them.

I like Tica. I have a 10'6" that I have had for 4yrs with no problems. I picked up a 9' for my wife this year.
