Default Question on Reg lines for StriperJim

I have a question for you. You posted a comment on one of my earlier questions. Here was your comment:

"The line of demarcation in Both New Jersey and Pennsylvania is the Calhoon St. Bridge. It is also considered the tidal barrier, where upstream 'non tidal' waters a freshwater license is needed."

The part I have a question for you is the part about the license. If I fish from shore on the Pennsylvania side, south of the Calhoon St Bridge, I don't need a license? But North of that bridge I do?

Thanks!

Dr D.
Glad you asked that important question.
Pennsylvanias Delaware river has no salt water including the tidal stretch that is not saltwater.
The entire length of the Delaware a license is needed.
It has a 10 foot tidal range and has no appreciable brackish water species there either. Pa fish and game. 717 626 0228
Now New Jersey is different regarding the regulations. Below the Commadore Barry Bridge and downstream you dont need a fishing license. The Commadore Barry is probably 60 miles south of the Calhoun Street bridge. Salem Cumberland and Cape May counties a license is not needed.
New jersey freshwater fisheries. 609 292 8642

Thanks for quick response. I got confused by that even though I saw it a month later.

Thanks again.
