Although I haven't fished for or caught any, I've seen newpaper reports of surf catches and boat catches in the Sandy Hook Sea Bright areas of Norhtern Monmouth County.
Large mouth bass in the local ponds in the winter here. I'm 4.5 hours to decent saltwater from here (outer banks, chesapeake bay,Va, etc). Kerr lake is within striking distance-1.5 hr. drive-haven't had break to go there yet this year (work,life,etc.).
We are under major drought conditions in this area right now, so I'm not sure what the Kerr lake levels are looking like. Anybody out there know?

bluefish. there is nothing better than fishing for blues with light tackle and watching them explode on a popper. sitting in a canoe on cape cod bay hooking up with about 20 for the day. when the water is warm they jump about 5ft in the air. looks pretty cool when u ur sitting in a canoe
I surf and kayak fish only , no boat only party . So i like to target Fluke and large Weakies . Weakies are becoming a favorite of mine !
