So I am thinking of buying a flat of blood worms instead of getting them at my local bait shop for $12 a dozen. I go with my friend at least once if not twice a week and we will split it. I have a few questions though.

  1. Does anyone have any reputable sites to purchase flats of blood worms from?
  2. How long will they last?
  3. What is involved in the caring for them?
Any info that can help will be greatly appreciated.

I live in the Poughkeepsie Area and am also looking for some good locations close by (between newburgh and kingston) to surfcast. I have only been to Plum Point in Newburgh.

Try Dicks Sporting goods in the Poughkeepsie Galleria for flats of bloods .
Call first to see.
Keep them cool in the box with seawood or wet newspaper.
I refrigerated mine. They lasted almost a week.
The public parks usually provide river / shoreline access.
On the East side you have Norrie Mills in Staatsburgh with some access.

I really should let the guys who live up there answer these questions. I'm lucky if I can even get to go to the river.
