been hearing alot about how blood worms are a good all around bait. i have a few differnt size hooks but want to know what is the largest hook i should use for the best presentaion. and was also wondering about if red hooks are a good way to go.
I use 3/0 and 4/0 for worms. I go bigger with chunk bait. like 6/0 and 7/0s.
But I fish the salt mostly. Fresh water I would go smaller. I hear good things about the bleeder (red) hooks. Its a matter of preference. I prefer the gamakatsu black striper baitholder and eel hooks. Or owner circle hooks. Mustad and eagle claw are all good. I may start using a modified treble for bigger live baits. Cutting a tine off like roccus does.
