I was at the canal last week. Caught stripers from a boat but never tried the canal. Threw plugs, rapalas, and soft bodied lures, without any luck. The question I have is, when using chunk bait, how do I keep it in the strike zone. I fished in a west current and an east current and also slack tide. The current runs so strong too little weight and the drift is too fast, too much weight, and I hang up. Any suggestions?
