Re: Ahhhhh sounds of spring
Are you sure it wasn't me stealing your eels? . Just kidding it's almost time. My back yard is loaded with them. But haven't been up early enough to hear them. And too cold to listen for them at night. A few more weeks and we will be fishing.

The Crokus have begun to poke through the ground!
As soon as I see the first Wood Duck, I'm going to start looking for Schoolies.

Re: Ahhhhh sounds of spring
lucky dawgs!
I look out in my maine back yard and still see nothing but snow.. although the banks are going down.
I'm just tying like a mad man until the schoolies show up. My 9wt is all lubed up, knots re-tied, line slicked.
Are they here yet?

For the past month or so I started with tieing hook's and now the hook binder is full, then I moved on to buying new spoons & jig's after that I just bought a buch of stickbaits & a few plugs......Now I need to spool up the gear & buy a new pair of waders....& O! Get the canal cruiser back into shape!

Re: Ahhhhh sounds of spring
Goin' down the river Sunday!!! First day out. My buddy caught 6 last week with one keeper, just before they closed for spawning season. He said it was delicious. But, we can still catch and release! And drink, and oh yeah did I mention FISHING?!?! I CAN'T WAIT...that's why I'm surfing the site!

Re: Ahhhhh sounds of spring
i know, alergies bad this season. kickin my butt; crokus (bloomed open) is my first sign (usually) but water stayed at 45 degrees most of the last 2 weeks and now we are just getting in full swing. boy did i misjudge this spring run. who knew the water would do this. always pick a week off a little too soon. perhaps the weekend will have the moon bring a body of fish in.
