Default Help with method of fishing

My wife and I just purchased a house on the sound close to the Hwy 32 bridge. I am looking for help in the method of finding stripers there, not specific locations.

What structures/contours should I look for.
  • Flats
  • trees in water
  • fast dept changes
  • holes in the water
  • deep trenches
Any general guidance would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome aboard! Check out some of the threads on this subject in the Stripers 101 forum:

Whether you're fishing from shore or from a boat, there's a goldmine of knowledge there that's worth digging through

WElcome to the area, We are near the Yeopim river and I often fish the bridge. There is so little structure in the sound so the bridge is good. I usually troll as close as possible to it. Many times I'l just cast each piling and move to the next. Simple 3 inch soft plastics especially Gulp are my go to.
