Dude! That sucks! Keep your eye on craigslist too. Did you file a police report? If you did, you might be able to get your auto insurance to cover it. Worth looking into anyway.

That's a bummer, for sure. Ya know, if it's not locked down, some thief will get it. And even then, they'll find a way.
Sorry to hear that.

sad part is they probably will be sold for a pittance of what they are worth... we need laws for theives like they have in the middle east if caught stealing off thier right hand (left if they are a southpaw) first offence, the other hand if they get caught again.... problem solved....

It is just wrong. We work hard to buy the gear we want, and someone who probably wouldn't know a $10 setup from a $1000 setup comes by and takes it. I agree with the "off with the hand" idea. That would make these guys think before they touch someone elses equipment...

Sorry for your loss man. Rickski is right, they probably have no idea what it's worth. Some people steal just for the sake of stealling, which really pisses me off. Your stuff could just sit there and never get used or maybe just thrown away down the road. Sound stupid but I've seen it happen

Check craigslist.org - a lot of stolen stuff if fenced on that site. Then you can show up as the buyer and give the guy a good punch in the teeth :) good luck!

Filed a police report. Notified the tackle shops and local pawn shops. I will find someone fishing my gear sooner than later.

Got it back. I got a call from 1 of the pawn brokers she said he just left. She sent him up the road on foot to another broker he actually left his cell phone in her shop. So I called the cops thinking they would go there and get him. Not a chance. I went down with a buddy looking for the junkie. I went into the other shop and the guy told me that he was in his shop but he didn't buy my gear from him. I knew there was something up with him. So I sent my buddy in about an hour later he told him he knew he had my shit. The guy kind of panicked and pulled the rods out. I flipped on him for giving me bullshit the 1st time I was in. He wanted the $40 bucks he paid the junkie. I flipped again. I told him to give me a copy of the thiefs ID and I'd give him $40. So he did the shady bastard. So for $40 bucks I got my stuff and his address. And the cops are picking up his girlfriend who used her ID and signed the sales slip. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
