i gurantee more schools will swim up, no way they are all up. Its only april. Yea its been warm, but they dont just go with temperatures. Im sure sun angle and moon phases play a majpr role in migration

I hope your correct. i was on fish a week before open season. i have also realized a major slow down in bites. im hearing reports of similar action further north. gotta be the same fish i was on two weeks ago...
they are moving fast

not sure how accurate i am, but i always read the jersey shore surf reports and go by that. why they die out (usually mid may), thats when we know the majority of schools made their way north to do their thing. still plenty of fish being caught down south!

still seeing some good fish in the southern area (TZ bridge)... my buddy took a 27" home last night (south of the TZ)... nice healthy fish that looked to be straight from the salt... they also lost a larger fish (~30-36") as they had no landing net (shore fishing from a small dock/pier)... DOH! I'll be heading out tonight... prob a few mile north of Havestraw bay to see if I can't bag a few before the storm system rolls in... tight lines fella!

Reports from the R. Bay say the fishing &the bunker are going strong. Was finishing up. Work on TG and had the VHF on spoke to few buds out in the local water + heard many good reports of fish caught in the 20 # ranges. So get out there and get em!

It's been lousy the last few weeks with the drop in temperature and rain. But I'm still hopeful that May will make up for it.

went out today at hi slack/dusk. only had frozen herring and bloods. perch and 2 run offs which were not cats. 20lb line was frayed (and just tied on). might have been a smallish bluefish.
