Thumbs up Carolina Sweetwater Fishin

I fished there this morning and took home some nice stripers by 9:00am. We went up river this time and caught them. The best hits were a couple of hours before dayligth til an hour or so after daylight.

Will be back this evening, and hopefully will have a report.

Thats my buddy Joe with the fish. Its really a made up deal, that fish was caught on a herring.I had caught a few of the crawdads at home while catching bait so I decided to try them up on the roanoke,I knew he was surrounded by stripers we were constantly catching fish,I left the crawfish out 20 or mor minutes without a single nibble,so I brung him in just as Joe caught that fish, soooo,he put him in his mouth and I snapped the photo.I have heard of some folks cleaning fish from lake murray with crwfish in them, but I am yet to be sold on them as bait.Ive got a few in the aquairum now.I thought mabey a catfish might bite them.I know up north they use for smallmouth bass.Hey anyway the pic look cool though dont it?,That crawdad and the fish was CPR catch photo and released alive back into the roanoke river.I told the guys in the boat a big un probally ate the crawdad before he hit the bottom, but one thing I know for sure, they didnt bit him while he was on the hook!! sam

fish every day,,man no! SOme folks arent as lucky as others. I need to get hooked up with a gal that lives close to the lake, its a long way from Pageland.I am lucky to average once a month seems like. This year,Ive fished wateree once, the catawaba river 3 times, santee once and the roanoke river once,so that averages about one trip per month,I soon hope to up the average and get to go more.

Kittykatcher,Don Gowan/Gowan farms sells them.I'm not sure if Bill gets his there or not.I am not sure if I can post any phone ## or not.His place is on shilo unity road,4 or 5 miles off hwy 200,kinda behind unity grocery(convenience store).Send me a PM and I'll send you the number,it should be in the lancaster SC phone book...I use to hunt with him many years ago.If you are fromaround lancaster are you have more than likely seen the yellow sighns gowan peaches..I guess he just sells the crawfish from his house, also I think he has a pay by the pound catfish lake too...,If Bill gets his elsewhere I'm sure he will report.....sam

Default HOT Weather Bite On Wateree

We caught them at the dam in DEEP WATER the last night. We were about 400 yards north of the dam working the deeper water. 18 pound fish were about the biggest ones. All were caught on blueback herring.

The total catch was 32 one night and 27 the other. We kept five 2-4 pounders each night to eat and released the rest. There was virtually no wind so we were able to anchor, but pulling in that much anchor line is tough!

Yes on the phone and I am sorry I cant remember the name, but she is mailing me some info on it,I dont understand why they havent brought it out into the public veiw.Gald I dont like river fish.

I had a Old crappie fisherman, that gave alot of fish away from these lakes for many years, telling me about how many fish he used to catch and he said "How all of his fish eating friends are dead or dieing from cancer."
