Default Taking my Penn 525 Mag out for the 1st time tomorrow help

Well I finally got the pole for the Penn 525 Mag i got thanks to Jim and the site, and I'm wondering if any of you have experience with non levelwind reels, whats the best way to get the line back on the spool even when retreving? I'm guessing pressuring my thumb on the Spool and moving the line from left to right? Is that the right way, I hear its easier after you get used to it. Help me out with some tips if you don't mine so I don't look like a complete ass the first time, then again not much can prevent that ;-)

did fine with it all I caught was a citation channel cat, but mostly got nice practice thing casted nice as hell even with gale force winds blowing right in my face, thanks again Jim , thought i did pretty good for my first time using a bait caster let alone a non level wind one, but all went well only one birds nest and i was able to get it out pretty easy, since i'm off all next week hopefully I'll have a pic of a cow to post.
