lol

Whoa, I forgot to add CANDIRIA to my list. If you like rock/metal/jazz with incredible odd time signature drumming, candiria is top-notch! Ken Schalk is one of my favorite drummers.

Zim, help me out...Jim's picking on me.

Jim, my legs are much better looking those on my new avatar, especially if you're into hairy legs.

Hey I just realized the person (male/female/other?) in my avatar is playing a Les Paul, my electric guitar of choice. Good job Jim, you got that right.

Oh ya, my choice of color in tutus is baby blue. :)

Wow, all this because I didn't like Jim's taste in music. AT 6 feet, 210 lbs, I'm a reasonably big person, but I'm not that big Jim. I'm tempted to post an honest picture of myself here so people can see what I really look like. But, I'm pretty sure Zim would just have his way with me.

Just an observation....people who point their fingers at others as to their sexual orientation are the ones usually with issues. Zim, if you ever want to talk to someone about them, I won't judge you. I'm here to listen buddy.

Default My favs and JB comment

These were some of my favs gowing up--Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, Nation of Ulysses, Ramones, Descendents, and can't forget about Devo.

Hey Johnny, you're music list fits exactly what I would have thought that it would be. I see where you get your inspiration--Slayer and Misfits etc. hahaha.

OK Jim, Zim...truce and back on topic.

Here's some of the music I was listening to as a teenager and young adult (mid 60's to mid 70's) that haven't been mentioned much in this thread yet.

-Cream and Blind Faith...Eric Clapton is still one of my favorate guitarists.
-Early Zepplin...A buddy and I ripped apart one of his turntables to build a strobe light specifically to play air-guitar to "Whole Lotta Love".
-Alvin Lee and Ten Years After...being a horny teenager, "Baby I wanna Ball You" was our theme song.
-CSN&Y, "After the Gold Rush" by Neil Young was the album of my freshman year in college and I still listen to it today.
-Spirit, "Twelve Dreams of Doctor Sardonicus"...Spirit later morphed into a real high powered band, JoJo Gun.....kicka$$ rock.
Jefferson Airplane/Starship, "Blows Against the Empire" was one of my college room mates favs. That album was your classic one-sided album.

Then there's Tull, Procal Harrem, Wishbone Ash, Deep Purple, Moody Blues, ELP, Yes.....the list is almost endless.

The great thing about music is that just hearing a song from your past can reconnect you to a person, place, or even just a feeling. Recounting these few was a trip down memory lane for me.

Nice list there Tony especially Cream and Blind Faith.
"Its near the end and Im wasted and
I cant find my way home"
and
Alvin Lee
"One of these days, boys, gonna see my baby,
Gonna see my baby - comin' down the road.
She'll have my pardon in her apron, wo, Lord,
Gonna see the governor - who said, "Release my man."

She's comin' down the road, boy, she's comin' down the road,
Red dress on, yeah, she's got her red dress on.
She's comin' down the road, boy, she's comin' down the road,
Her bags down low, she's got her bags down low.

One of these days, boys, gonna see my woman;
She'll have my children, children on her knee.
I'll run up to my woman - and hold her in my arms,
Tears in her eyes, she says, "I'm glad you're free."

I'd like to add Mark Bolin and T- Rex. "when Im sad, I slide".

Music has been and still is such a big part of my life. After my wife, my guitars are my 2nd best friends. They (my guitars) also help me stay connected to some of my oldest friends because we still get together 4-5 times a year to jam. Fishing is a great past-time, but everyone should play an instrument. It's so absorbing that after playing for a few minutes I feel refreshed.

It's now that time of year when I've just transitioned from going down to the dock to fish to playing my guitars after getting home from work. Got to practice and get my fingers in shape for "The Mid-Life Crisis" New Years gig.

Hey, when does one transition from Mid-life to old age. We'll probably have to change the name of our band to The Over-the-Hill Gang soon.

Time flies when your having fun.
