Default Parachute Bucktails

Hello Guys
I was wondering if anyone has used parachute bucktails while fishing the surf and had any luck? A buddy of mine swears by them and states he had luck on them just want to see if anyone else has and if they are worth investing. I have heard that they great for trolling and jigging but I don't hear to many people talk about them on the surf.

I've tried em once or twice. Usually end up with some of the hair sticking in the snap making it look not quite right in the water.

I'm too lazy to tie direct. It might work like that.

I've seen them used alot on charters out of Montauk using wire line and I've used them via a head boat that I go out on while drifting over a hump(excellant boat if you want more info pm me) but from the surf... to much work besides just reeling in and keeping the jig out of the rocks....

What he said: Too much work for surfcasting, unless you can get to deep drop off near shore. Even then, it tires me out quickly, so I've learned to like the smaller conventional jigs.
