i said it before and i will say it again. the issue of circle hooks to target (striped bass in particular ) is going to be brought up at this venue. by 2008 it will be law. mark my word<
The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council and Advisory Committees are scheduled to meet August 1-3 at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. At this meeting, the Council plans to finalize 2007 management measures for summer flounder, scup, black sea bass, bluefish. The Ecosystems Committee will review strategies to reduce bycatch mortality through the adoption and use of circle hooks and other types of hooks in selected recreational fisheries. The Squid, Mackerel, Butterfish Committee will discuss allocation alternatives for Loligo squid. For a description of additional issues and a detailed agenda, refer to the meeting notice.
