Exclamation Re: New, Overwhelmed by choices

Jake, thank you for the info.

I purchased a bunch of lures before reading your references, but hopefully I'm not too far off base. I used the recommended lure lists from the Stripers 101 thread and an article, "The 25 Greatest Striper Lures of All Time".

Here is what I came away with, but may adjust after reading the 2x2 Matrix article.
  • Bomber A-Salt Purple/Black
  • Acme Kastmasters 3oz
  • Atom Striper Swiper
  • Tsunami 6" Bunker pattern shad
  • Yo-Zuri Mag Darter(F)
  • Andrus 2oz Jetty Caster
  • 3oz diamond lead eel green tube

I also bought an Eagle Claw Laser Striped Bass Fish Finder with 6/0 Octo hook, 42" leader to be an alternate to the Hi/Low rig I bought at Pell's. I'm not adverse to tying my own stuff, but wasn't 100% sure of what clips, hooks, etc. to buy, so I felt that going with the "striper" pre-made ones would help me get the ball rolling.

I'm hopeful that one or more of these lures will bag me a keeper. I was thinking of starting on the river with the Jetty Caster and Tsunami 6" shad and see what happens. Then maybe try them out in the ocean along with the others.
