i am looking to respool my reel with some new mono. I used ande backcountry last year and thaught it was the strongest most abrsion resisstant line i ever used. But it lacked the casting distance i needed. So what is the overall best mono to use? It has to be abrasion ressistant, strong and get above average casting.
20# yo-zuri hybrid is fluorocarbon compound. it has a little wiggle in initial cast but straightens out nicely after a fish on. not a bad deal considering i have not had an issue with it other than line memory on the spool but like all lines that works itself out.
really? what # test? i had 17# on my 525 and it sucked to be honest. it cast well but wasn't that strong. but then again i wasn't getting small fish with that setup off the beach. i don;t thing it could land a 70# fish like the 15# ande did.
When I used mono my favorite's were, Ande Tournament, and Berkeley Big Game 15lb on spinning, and 20lb on conventional.
