Default Wallenpaupack in Pa. gives up it's bounty in less than 1 hour.

Always target big fish thru the ice on Eastern Pa. lakes and on Sunday, Feb. 22,2009, . in less than 1 hour, girlfriend and I landed three, pure-strain stripers of 18 - 22 and 27 pds. and a 9lb. walleye. Kept the 22lb.bass and released the others in what appeared to be 'good' condition; no blood, no gill touch, and only out of the water for less than a minute to take pictures. NOTE: 1 week later noticed a large fish dead under the ice near where previous week bass were caught. Retrieved same to find the 27lb. bass did not survive. Opinion is that these fish, in the winter, do not posess the strength to survive a release in cold water after long run-offs and hand-line (tip-up) methods. Still a Great Day on the ice!!
