I have scheduled the week of April 9th off work to striper fish. I can't decide where to go. I belive the opportunity for bigger fish is at Cumberland, but have some concern with the lake level: boat ramps, marinas, etc. Where woul you go???

Digger,
Cumberland, even with shortage of working ramps due to water level, should be great fishing.
I have some contacts on Smith, and Cumberland, check these out:
http://www.smithlakecommunity.com/forum/ See if you can PM Materhead (Brian) he'll help you w/info on Stripers.

Contact Cumberlandguy (Mike) on the Smack Tackle forum he lives in Somerset, KY, just a few minutes from Striper heaven in Kentucky:

Yep, Cumberland would be the choice. That's were Miami and me will be! Even with low water, you can find smaller ramps, where even if the ramp is unuseable you can put in from the shore. I would however recommend a 4x4 vehicle and a 17 ft tracker type boat max when launching from the shore. Alot of these places already have people doing this, so you can see where the "new" ramp that everyone's using is. Some people even leave their trailers in the water! Good luck!

We are full pond at SML.
You do not need a 4x4....
Multiple citations caught this week running planers against the banks just after dark, pearl flukes.
Contact Capt. Dewayne Lamb at Captain's Quarter's for fish report and look at smlfishingguide.com which is brand new boards for SML.
