Default Lake Guntersville Stripers?

I will be down that way to visit my daughter at the end of the month and was wondering about thee striper fishing at Lake Guntersville. Although I live in extreme NE MD and enjoy chasing stripers in the brine of the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays; I've fished for stripers at Smith Mountain Lake in Va for over 15 years, so I'm not totally unfamiliar with fresh water striper fishing. I'm thinking about renting a boat at the state park and spending the afternoon and evening checking out the lake and was looking for general hints and/or techniques for the area.

This time if year at SML I usually toss Rattle Traps, buck tails, Swim Shad or Bombers across primary and secondary points near deep water in the evening, but since the rentals don't have a FF, I will have to get a good map of the lake and go by dead reckoning. Lastly, where can I pick up a GOOD detailed map and what are the rules regarding the use of live bait?

Thanks!
